Choir rehearsals, Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag) decorated all over the school and the constant rush and fuss over the National day celebrations back in high school.
I miss the sight of different costumes and colors, most of all singing of tuneful patriotic songs with my friends.
This year’s Hari Merdeka (Independence Day) feels very different from yesteryears and I can’t help but recollect those wonderful times of performing for school events. I’m sure many of us inside and outside of Malaysia miss this excitement but we can count on the fact that as Malaysians, we have come a long way and persevered in the toughest of times.
May Malaysia always be peaceful and healthy in years and generations to come. Sejahtera Malaysia!
P.S. Here is a little musical gift to my fellow Malaysians.
